Peripheral settlements of České Budějovice district and their human and demographic capital.
PSOHLAVCOVÁ, Tereza
The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of human and demographic capital in peripheral and other settlements of the district of České Budějovice. Peripheral and ultra-peripheral settlements are defined on the basis of their greater remoteness by public transport from micro-regional cities. Suburban settlements are characterized by strong construction of suburban houses. Semi-peripheral settlements are the remaining settlements. Peripheral areas arise as clusters of neighboring peripheral and ultra-peripheral settlements (+ settlements without transport connections). Therefore, first necessary was to define micro-regional towns and also lower settlements (very small towns, townships, central villages, major villages and larger villages) by using four indicators of settlements centres - population, services, commuters and transport connections. Secondly, an evaluation of human and demographic capital of settlement types and peripheral areas was made on the basis of several indicators of population development, age structure, education, housing construction, unemployment, business rate and other indicators. There were defined three micro-regional towns, four very small towns, two townships and a number of other lower settlement centres in the district of České Budějovice. Large areas with peripheral and ultra-peripheral settlements (+ settlements without connections) have been created at a greater distance from micro-regional towns. There were defined 15 peripheral areas. Suburban settlements show very favorable values of human and demographic capital, while micro-regional towns and townships show little favorable values. In the naturally valuable landscape on the south of České Budějovice, peripheral areas have significantly favorable values of the monitored capitals, while some peripheral areas around Týn nad Vltavou and in the Novohradské hory Mountains have opposite values.

This diploma thesis deals with utilization of colored grain of wheat with purple pericarp in broiler chicken nutrition Ross 308. The aim of this work was to evaluate the influence of feeding with wheat RU 687-12 with purple pericarp and higher content of anthocyanins on parameters of yield of fed broilers and their metabolism assessed on the basis of biochemical examination of their blood. The experiment was carried out on 240 broiler chicken cockerels divided into 2 groups (control and experimental) of 120 pieces. The chickens of each group were divided into separate bins of 20 pieces (6 reps). The first group - experimental - was fed with a feed mixture with a 60% share of colored wheat RU 687-12. The control group was fed with a feed mixture containing the same share of common wheat Bohemia. The experiment lasted from the 12th to the 39th day of the age of the chickens. During the experiment, the chickens were weighed weekly and feed consumption was monitored in individual bins. While slaughtered at the end of the experiment, the blood of 2 random chickens was taken for biochemical examination (12 chickens per each group). All the chickens were processed after the slaughter, the weight of a processed body found out, and a portion of breast and femoral muscles set within a part of chickens. Based on statistical processing and comparison of the results, a significant difference is some parameters of mineral metabolism was found out (in the concentration of magnesium, iron, glutathione peroxidase activity) and in the blood glucose concentration. In the feed consumption parameters, weight gains, feed conversion and yield parameters, no conclusive differences were found out. Blending wheat with colored pericarp into feed mix (instead of common wheat) had neither positive nor negative substantial effect on the yield or metabolism of the fed broiler chickens.

The bachelor work deals with the problematics of breeding kangaroos in zoological gardens. The work is divided into several parts. In the literature overview I focused on writing down available sources. I am describing characteristic signs of kangaroos, their ways of life, body structure, occurence, reproduction, delivery and evolution of the young. From the breeding principles I apply to recommended run sizes, appropriate feeding doses, diseases occuring in kangaroos and their prevention. In the methodology I am submitting a sample questionnaire which I have sent to zoos abroad. I received an answer from the following foreign ZOOs: from Slovakia: Bratislava, Košice, from Germany: Heidelberg and Zoo Hof, from Austria: Zoo Linz, Schönbrunn, and zoo-park Atzesberg. In the Czech Republic I personally visited zoos in the following cities: Brno, Lešná, Jihlava, Hodonín, Olomouc. During my visits to the zoos I spoke to the kangaroo keepers or the chief zoologists. In the results I am comparing single breedings and answers from the questionnaires.
