Nursing care of the patient with aortal defect treated by Ross operation

I deal with diagnostic and treatment of aortic valvular defect of young patient in this case study. This work is divided into the clinical and the nursing part. The clinical part is focused on anatomy of cardiac sections, coronary circulation and cardiac conduction system. Furthermore, I attend to sorts of aortic valve defects, diagnostic and therapy. There are advantages and disadvantages of mechanical and biological valve, operation according to Ross and experience of our department with this metod in the chapter therapy. Other chapters are aimed at protecting of the myocardium during surgery and basic information about patient. I stated importance of the nursing process, I outlined a model of Virginia Henderson by which I evaluated the patient's needs in the nursing section. There are a short-term care plan prepared for the first 24 hours after surgery and longterm care plan prepared from the second postoperative day to discharge the patient home. I attend to education of the patient at the end of my work. There are a list of used literature, a list of used drugs and their insertion into the drug group in conclusion of this work. Annexes contain images depicting the surgical treatment of Ross method and tables documenting detail information of patients who underwent this operation in our department.
