KAVALÍR Pavel: Collegiality of the Episcopacy on Service of the Unity of the Church: Catholic Theological Faculty, Charles University, Prague, 2009, 92 pp. Graduation (Diploma) Thesis. This thesis deals with one of important qualities of the Episcopacy of Roman-Catholic Church - collegiality, definition of which we can find in ecclesiological reflections of II Vatican Council, especially in the constitution Lumen Gentium. Using both the historical-critical method and the method recommended by II Vatican Council, the author wants to analyse statements of the Scripture, sacred tradition and Magisterium related to the topic and to consider it in context of time and especially in the light of the last councils and in the perspective of post-council development. The aim of this thesis is to point out that collegiality of the Catholic Episcopacy is a necessary and important element of the universal church and an instrument of unity, independent on period, in connection with the Bishop of Rome. The author also wants to outline the importace of this topic for the future of the church. Keywords: Apostle, Bishop, Collegiality, Episcopacy, Synodality
