Women's awareness of cord blood importance

This bachelor's work explores a general acquaintance about umbilical blood among women. The aim of the work was to find out if women at the age of 18 - 35 know about a donor ship of umbilical blood and its possible utilization. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part there are several anatomical facts providing a better understanding and orientation in the topic given. In details a method of the taking, utilization a preserving possibility of the umbilical blood are described. Further the most frequent usage variations of the gained fragment follow and that is in the form of transplantation. The list of the often complications together with their appropriate cure is not missing. The empirical part was implemented by means of a survey. First of all necessary goals of the research and resulting hypotheses were defined. Then subsequently the questionnaire has been composed and the suitable research pattern has been chosen. More than one half of this work is formed by the individual responses set up mainly into the charts and graphs for a better orientation. In conclusion the obtained information and the whole research progress together with the proposals of a better women's acquaintance in this area are evaluated. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
SZŠ and VOŠZ students' attitude towards dying and death

This diploma work deals with end of life issues from the view of the students graduating from nursing school, specializing as practical nurses and students graduating from nursing college, specializing as diploma practical nurses. The theoretical part looks at the issues from both the historical and the present point of view and includes the basic terms, stages of dying, human reaction to illness and coming death, lenitive care, hospice movement, the needs of the dying and their attendance. It describes adolescence as an important ontogenetic stage of life and it deals with the future health carers training in care about the dying. The research part uncovers students' attitude towards dying and death, knowledge of the dying needs according to the lenitive care principles and their subjective readiness to care about the incurably ill.
Burnout of nurses working at ambulatory workplaces

This dissertation is focused on incidence and intensity of burnout by nurses working at ambulatory workplaces. It is divided in two parts - theoretical and experimental. Theoretical part contains burnout explanation as a term, its symptoms, risk factors, prevention and treatment. It also stresses on character (feature) of nurses work at ambulatory places. At experimental part there is found influence of individual factors on burnout level by nurses working at ambulatory and specialized workplaces. Two questionaires are used for experimental part: own construction questionaire and official questionaire Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). The aim of own construction questionaire is to track risk factors of burnout. MBI questionaire finds out level of burnout in 3 areas: emotion exhausting, personality loss and working performance (efficiency) reducing (decreasing). This part also contains directed interview that completes the main part of research by it's questions.
Opinions of parents and teachers to rewards and punishments in education of Secondary Nursing School students

Diploma thesis aims to problems of education, educational instruments and period of adolescence. Theoretical part defines the term education, describes basic educational goals and styles, role of parents and teachers in education of adolescents, frequently used educational instruments and evolutional changes, which are experienced by each individual during period of adolescence. Research part discovers which educational instruments are used by parents and teachers during education of students of Secondary Nursing School (SNS) at most and also traces opinions of students to presented issue. The research has been done using own questionnaire for parents and teachers and using controlled interview for students. The research itself was realized at SNS in Beroun, Higher Nursing School (HNS) and SNS of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Most, SNS and HNS in Pilsen and SNS Ruská in Prague 10. It is obvious from the results of research that parents and teachers try to keep relationship with adolescents and they base the education rather on motivation, rewards and respect of established rules.
Customs and life style of contemporary Roma

Transcultural nursing is becoming a commonly used concept. More frequently than ever healthcare professionals have to provide care to members of different ethnic groups. Specific approach different from one used for members of major society is necessary. Lifestyle, folk traditions, ways of good health maintaining and experiences with hospitalization of Roma in selected parts of the Czech Republic is studied by the means of qualitative research. Possible contribution of the research for healthcare practice is discussed at the end of the work.
Stress of nursing schools students during their practice training

This thesis deals with stress of nursing school students during their practice training in medical facilities. Its main goal is to identify the most common and most serious stressors that influence them. Theoretical part is about stress, adolescence period, practice training conception, nursing school types, nurse teacher personality and student preparation for stress situations. There is a description of found stressors in experiential part of the thesis. The stressors are further sorted by frequency of answers. Also comparison between various types of schools was done. Information about stressors was gathered via own questionnaire, research sample consisted of 334 participants from 13 nursing schools. Of 5 set possibilities 2 were fully confirmed, 2 partially confirmed and 1 was eliminated. Students consider as the biggest stressors nurse teachers, medical department staff, time pressure, lack of their own knowledge or experience and last but not least the responsibility. Students of different types of schools usually mentioned different stress intensity and order of the biggest stressors during practice.
