Strength desing of hanger with non-standard dimmensions
Zajíc, Jonáš ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis was created in cooperation with MPS Gradior. The thesis deals with the design and analysis of one-dimensional hanger with non-normalized dimensions for DN 1400 pipes. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to create a design of non-standardized pipe hanger based on the previous background research. The subsequent strength analysis under static force loading was performed using the finite element method with help of the ANSYS software. After verification of the functionality and the security of the proposed model, detailed drawing documentations have been developed to serve as the basis for a production of the prototype part.
Jacketed stainless steel pressure Vessel
Kamarád, Miroslav ; Buzík, Jiří (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
Pressure vessels occupy a prominent place in the field of process equipment due to their wide use in various industries. From design and dimensional point of view, great emphasis is placed on accuracy, reliability and above all safety. The bachelor thesis is focused on the stress analysis of the jacketed pressure vessel according to ČSN EN 13445 [1]. The stress analysis was performed with use od finite element method (FEM) using ANSYS Workbench software together with stress categorization by EN 13445 [1].
Oxide scales damaging evaluation
Audyová, Markéta ; Vejvoda, Stanislav (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This work is focused on oxide scale failure and characteristics created in high temperature – supercritical processes. The presence of high temperature corrosion in supercritical processes is minimalised by selection of the right material. For this work was selected material X10CrMoVNb9-1, where formulas of present oxidation scales are Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and FeCr2O4. Each oxidation scale has its own mechanical properties thus it is important to notice scale arrangement, thickness and geometry. Oxide scale mechanical properties, scale failure mechanisms and oxidation scale growth is evaluated in this work. Tension and pressure oxide scale failure are determined by critical values, which are mentioned in this work. Thanks to these values there was possibility to verify the authenticity of the finite element model. Oxidation scales created in heat exchangers are badly accessible thus it is difficult to observe them or remove them mechanically. Tube finite element model with oxidation scales was created in this work. There are simulations of scales on selected steel in supercritical conditions (pressure 24 MPa, temperature 500 °C). Simulation and analytic results are compared. Failure operative conditions are searched for scale FeCr2O4 until its compleate delamination and separation from metal. Aim of this work is to create an oxidation scale model with a possibility of futher use.
Complex strength design of condenser
Denk, Jakub ; Naď, Martin (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on strength design of steam condenser. The goal of the thesis is to make strength calculations for the specific operation conditions, introduce possible solutions, provide recommendations and refer to weak points of such calculation procedures. First, thermal-hydraulic design in HTRI software is performed. Strength calculations respect ČSN EN 13445 standard. Strength calculation with imported temperature field is performed in ANSYS Workbench software. In the next step, another strength calculation is realized in Sant´ Ambrogio software. Results are evaluated in conclusion chapter, including recommendations for the possible following work.
Life-Time Management of Process Devices in Industrial Practice
Lošák, Pavel ; Klemeš,, Jiří (referee) ; Ing. Zdeněk Jůza, Ph.D. MBA (referee) ; Vejvoda, Stanislav (advisor)
This dissertation examines life-time management of process and energetic devices in industrial practice, mainly in the area of steam power plants. Furthermore, it focuses on frequent damage mechanisms occurring in this area. It summarizes basics of damaging mechanisms occurring in the process industry area, their monitoring, evaluation and prediction. In the area of steam power plants, the main emphasize was placed on cumulative damage mechanisms. Within the dissertation, mechanisms of creep, fatigue, and their combinations were assessed. Major European standards were examined in order to discuss the amount of contained conservatism and their usability. Subsequently, attention was paid to the methods applicable for creep and fatigue combination evaluation. In the next step life-time monitoring and evaluation standard was discussed. The diagnostic software was created which includes creep, fatigue and creep-fatigue combination evaluation according to valid standards. For online life-time evaluation was proposed refined analytical solution for stress and strain calculation. To further extend the life-time management, the dissertation describes oxide scale damaging together with its evaluation and implementation into diagnostic software. The proposed software is extended by the material module which on the basis of defined materials allows easy and effective usage of material characteristics. For the purpose of refining life-time prediction accuracy, experimental device was schematically described. In addition, the device should be also able to verify used equations. Furthermore, the dissertation includes solution to industrially oriented cases. Firstly, a steam generator with damaged pipes was analyzed, afterwards damaged transferring pipeline. Further analyses deal with U-tube heat exchanger and its damaging. The causes of damage were discovered and corrective measures were proposed. The dissertation concludes with the summarization of potential activities for subsequent research in examined area.
Design of heat exchanger
Klučka, Ivan ; Nekvasil, Richard (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the thermal-hydraulic and construction design of heat exchanger with floating head. The introductory part is dedicated to the design of heat exchangers. Next part is focused on the thermal-hydraulic design created in HTRI software (module Xist. The next section is the strength calculation of selected components of the heat exchanger according to EN 13445 in software Sant'Ambrogio. The following part describes each of the analysis in software Ansys Workbench. The final part contains complete manufacturing documentation of heat exchanger.
Design of heat exchanger
Buzík, Jiří ; Lošák, Pavel (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
The master thesis deals with thermal hydraulic design and strength design of a heat exchanger with “U” tube bundle inside of a shell. The first chapter introduces general design issues of the heat exchangers. The following chapter describes thermal hydraulic design created in software Maple 16.0 by using Kern’s method and the method of Bell-Delaware. HTRI software was used for the control of thermal hydraulic design correctness. To check critical locations of fluid flow in space between the tubes, the CFD model was created at ANSYS Fluent 14.0 software. Accuracy of strength design was verifying by Sant’ Ambrogio software in accordance with ČSN EN 13 445 standards. The last chapter concerns with FEM analysis. According to standards ČSN EN 13 445 the design by analysis namely method based on stress categories were used for the strength analysis of nozzle.
