Possibilities of educational MOOC courses
Kocháň, Matouš ; Hudák, Igor (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis explores the possibilities of MOOC online courses and their implementation for ČSN EN 1591-4 standard. Firstly, Czech and global providers of MOOCs are discussed and compared. There are over 220 million MOOC active users globally. Then, the content of a course regarding the ČSN EN 1591-4 standard is created. This standard defines the necessary knowledge that mechanicians must acquire to install flange joints in critical applications. In the experiment, the importance of lubricating the fastener is pointed out. The outcome of the thesis is ten videos in Czech and in English that cover the courses' content and the experiment. The author entered a discussion with a Dutch Engineering Trainer platform which expressed interest in the ČSN EN 1591-4 course. In the end, the possibilities of course commercialization, fees, and profit are explored. There are several MOOC platforms open to publishing a course. Nevertheless, it is not possible to post the same course on two platforms simultaneously.
Design and evaluation of process equipment damaged by degradation mechanisms
Cablková, Zuzana ; Naď, Martin (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is aimed at the evaluation of selected degradation mechanisms which occurs in process equipment. The assessment is undoubtedly important in terms of safety and prediction of residual life. This issue is demonstrated by two mechanisms described in this thesis. A phenomenon called creep is the first of these mechanisms and appears in environments with elevated temperature. The theoretical part of the thesis covers the basic principles of the creep mechanism and its effect on the material. A marginal but not negligible problem is the occurrence of this damage in welded joints. Many standards deal with the prediction and assessment of creep. Part of this thesis is the mapping and to some extent a comparison of several selected procedures. The second degradation mechanism is related to the presence of aggressive compounds such as sulfide. This can lead to hydrogen embrittlement, blisters, and many other damages. As with creep, an overview of standards devoted to the design, evaluation, or maintenance of equipment used in this way is created for these mechanisms. The content of the practical part of this thesis is the calculation of the evaluation of such a device by using the procedures of the API 579-1 standard.

Influence of deposits on algae growth in a tubular photobioreactor
Vajaýová, Veronika ; Lošák, Pavel (referee) ; Naď, Martin (advisor)
The content of the theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is a description of the tubular pho-tobioreactors, comparison of the individual types of the cultivation devices, the fundamental parameters influencing the efficiency of biomass production, and problems of formation of deposits on the inner surface of the photobioreactor. The attention is focused on the effect of sediment formation on the growth of microalgae in the tubular photobioreactor. Since the sediments affect the resulting light intensity in the suspension in the tubes, this phenomenon is reflected in the overall cultivation efficiency and the biomass yield. The practical part presents the course of measurements performed in the vertical tubular photobioreactor designed for flue gas cleaning using the microalgae Chlorella pyrenoidos Chick (IPPAS C2). The aim was to solve the problem of foaming, which subsequently caused deposits in the system's tubes or other parts. To this end, two measures were tested: • the mechanical one in the form of a wire mesh, • the chemical one using sunflower oil. The measured values were the basis for determining the effect of deposits on light intensity and also served to evaluate the functionality of the tested measures.

Boleloucký, Václav ; Lošák, Pavel (referee) ; Létal, Tomáš (advisor)
Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením únavové životnosti v okolí konstručního uzlu tlakové nádoby, kde vzniká výrazná koncentrace napětí a je zde předpoklad primárního vlivu na únavu materiálu. Konkrétně se jedná o místo přechodu kontrolního otvoru do pláště analyzovaného zařízení. Práce obsahuje teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části jsou představeny pojmy a metody hodnocení, související s danou problematikou.
Practical comparison of pressure vessels design approaches within ČSN EN 13445
Procházka, Tomáš ; Pernica, Marek (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a practical comparison of pressure vessels design approaches within ČSN EN 13445. The thesis aimed to design the device using various approaches described in the European Standard and compare them. For the design was chosen a liquid filter, which works as the first stage of the filtration system in a waste-to-energy plant. In the first part of the thesis is introduced to different routes of design by analysis (DBA), including a description of plasticity conditions and finite element types. These theoretical knowledge are applied in the practical part. The practical part consists of designs of the pressure vessel according to different approaches and methods. The first approach is a design by formulae (DBF), which was done in software Visual Vessel Design. The second approach is DBA. This method of design can be realized according to the European Standard by two routes, either by Method base on the stress categories or so-called Direct Route. Both routes were performed in this work. Stress analyzes were made in programs ANSYS Workbench and NozzlePRO. At the end of the thesis, there is a comparison of used approaches and the resulting values of the design.
Structural design of the high-pressure separator with focus on the flange connection
Šmarda, Radek ; Klučka, Ivan (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
The first part of the diploma thesis deals with research in the field of design of process apparatuses. The research continues describing the function, division and main parts of separators. The research part ends with a more detail overview of flange connections.
