Cavitation erosion testing
Sochorec, Rostislav ; Moravec, Prokop (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis is a literature survey of three most common methods of accelerated tests of cavitation erosion. These are cavitation induced by changing flow velocity in relatively conventional high-speed water tunnels, vibratory method which uses ultrasound to produce cavitation, and jets of liquid impacting surface of materials. In order to understand them, there is also a brief general introduction to the issue of cavitation and most important factors which can have effect on cavitation tests results.
Microfluidics
Abrahám, Martin ; Sluše, Jan (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with phenomenon of gas and fluid flow in equipment with micro scale. The first part is dedicated to describe Reynolds number and laminar flow in micro channel. The second part is dedicated to describe specific equipment for pumping a working material – micropumps, microvalves, microneedels, micromixers.
Maximum attainable efficiencies of one-stage volute pumps
Galuška, Jiří ; Fic, Miloslav (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with European Commission Regulation EUROPUMP for minimun allowable efficiency of the one stage volute pumps. Thesis deals with definition, time table and criteria for measurement these pumps. Further thesis deals with total efficiency of the pipe system in relation to pump efficiency. Follow example of a calculation of the one stage volute pump.
Cavitation in medicine, chemistry and biological sciences
Slavíček, Ondřej ; Kozák, Jiří (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the cavitation phenomenon and its applications in practice. First part describes the basic physical principles of cavitation. Next part dedicates to existing and potential possibilities in using cavitation and its effects for the benefit of man. And especially in fields such as biology and medicine.
Cavitation in medicine, chemistry and biological sciences
Slavíček, Ondřej ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis will deal with the cavitation phenomenon and his application in practice.
Pressure drop in the flow of the liquid in the tube with very high roughness
Habr, Martin ; Rudolf, Pavel (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
The thesis deals with sources of the head loss in pipe and options of its calculation. Factors influencing the head loss and possibilities of decreasing pressure drop in pipe are also discussed in the thesis. The result of thesis contains comparison of calculation methods of head loss with calculation using Darcy-Weisbach equation.
Rocket fuel pumps
Kalina, Adam ; Sluše, Jan (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the pumps used in rocket technology, their operating parameters and general geometry. Particular attention is paid to inducers. Their influence on cavitation in pumps and overview of the different types that are used in various rocket engines. Is mentioned here how cavitation is created, what are the types of cavitation and its impact on the operation of the pump.
Cavitation erosion
Lecnar, Lukáš ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on cavitation erosion and it is divided into two main parts. The first part is devoted to the search of cavitation erosion focusing on erosion mechanisms. In the first chapter of this search is briefly described cavitation process and different types of cavitation are listed here. Hydrodynamic cavitation which is the key type for this bachelor’s thesis is described in the following chapter. The final and the most extensive chapter is devoted to cavitation erosion of solids which is largely associated with the effects of the mechanical action of the fluid. The second part is devoted to the experimental study of cavitation erosion of samples. The goal was to document the experiment which was carried out in order to gain knowledge about the material removal by cavitation erosion.
Flow visualization
Vavrla, Zdenek ; Šperka, Oldřich (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with fluid flow visualization methods in the air and water. First brief characteristic of the basic concepts of fluid flow is described, such as streamline, laminar and turbulent flow. The described visualization methods are divided into certain types and are used for fluid or gas. These methods provide a qualitative view of the flow and create the overview of the characteristics of gas or liquid flow. Some of these methods are simple and some are more complex. Finally, a simple experiment of liquids flow visualization is described by very powerful laser pointer.
Vortex ring
Zaremba, Matouš ; Šperka, Oldřich (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The aim is to design equipment for the production of a vortex ring. The work deals with design of equipment, manufacturing and experimental verification of the functionality of some experiments with vortex rings. The work also includes a theoretical part which mathematically describes the motion of the vortex ring.
