Graduation thesis title: Analysis and comparison ofthe game performance ofthe Czech and Brazilian national teams of trainee officers at the 2003 World Championship focused on individua! defence techniques. Cíle práce: Provést rozbor a srovnání herní výkonnosti reprezentačního družstva kadetů ČR s družstvem Brazílie na MS kadetů 2003 v Thajsku z hlediska vybraných obranných herních činností jednotlivce- blokování, vybírání. Naší snahou bylo porovnat úspěšnost blokování a vybírání mezi reprezentačními družstvy kadetů ČR a Brazílie. Metoda: K provedení rozboru vybraných ukazatelů byla použita metoda zprostředkovaného pozorování, tzn. pozorování pomocí videozáznamu. Analyzované údaje jsou zpracovány do tabulek a grafů a jednotlivé hodnoty následně dle potřeby převedeny na procenta. Výsledky: Ukazují na rozdíly mezi vybranými družstvy a poskytují doporučení pro budoucí práci s mládežnickými reprezentačními týmy. Title: YMCA and University sport as pioneers of volleyball in Czech countries Objectives: The goal of our thesis is to make an overview of beginning and development of volleyball between first and second world war in Czech countries and to prove the influence of YMCA and University sport on it. Methods: We have used these methods in our thesis: progressive and retrospective method, direct and indirect method and comparative method. The necessary part of a retrospective and progressive method were synchronous and diachronic attitude to a historical progress. Results: The thesis provides an overview of information related to the formation and development in a period between World War I and World War II in the Czech lands with contribution of the YMCA organisation and the University Sport organisation. The paper demonstrates that these two organisations had the major role in the development of volleyball and thanks to them volleyball in our lands is one of the best ones in Europe from its beginning, in a matter of both its level and organisation. Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players at the Grand Slam tournaments

Title: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players at the Grand Slam tournaments Objectives: Diploma thesis is divided into two chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to make a comprehensive and valuable overview of the historical development of the greatest tennis tournaments called the Grand Slam from the very beginning until the present. The second part of this thesis focuses on Czechoslovak and Czech men's and women's tennis players who achieved the greatest success in these tournaments. Methods: I used historiographical method in my diploma thesis. Other methods used in this thesis are based on this method. In the first chapter, which is focused on the Grand Slam tournaments, I applied mostly progressive method which captures events from the past until the present. In the second chapter, which is aimed at Czechoslovak and Czech players, I used biographical and chronological methods. Results: Czechoslovak and Czech tennis players have been the most successful at Wimbledon, they have won there fourteen times. Wimbledon is followed by French Open with ten victories. Fewest victories have achieved our players at Australien Open and US Open. Among men, Ivan Lendl was the most successful in the men's single with eight victories at the Grand Slam tournaments. Causes of knee joint injuries in professional women volleyball

CAUSES OF KNEE JOINT INJURIES IN PROFESSIONAL WOMEN VOLLEYBALL OBJECTIVES: Objective of this thesis is to identify factors that may cause knee joint injuries and may be neglected in professional women volleyball. METHODS: Two methods of data collection were used: questionnaire with "open" and "closed" questions and semistructured interview. RESULTS: We have discovered more than one factor that we identified as a potential cause of injury of knee joint in every case - every volleyball player that participated in our research. We have also discovered that the factors that have been neglected were in most cases identical. Key words: volleyball, injury, knee-joint

Year of Thesis Defence: 2012 Abstract: The master's thesis deals with the issue of the preparation of young volleyball players who are not able to master either basic ways of playing or individual game activities in volleyball. The children are between six and ten years old which corresponds with the lower primary education. Volleyball is a kind of sport where the basic individual game activities are considered very difficult. For playing volleyball well, children must firstly reach a certain degree of physical abilities. If we start too early, then we achieve an early specialization, which has mostly a negative impact on young sportsmen. Diploma Thesis Title: The Development of the Tonic Abilities of Senior-Pupils in Volleyball Goals of Thesis: This work is focusing on the raising of the tonic abilities level of senior-pupils in volleyball, by the support of the selected training program. I am trying to verify the effectiveness of the created training program for the development of these abilities. Method: To determine the effect of the created training program for the development of the tonic abilities, we used the method of testing. The testing was performed mainly by using the test-file for SCM and KCM, used to test the level of motor abilities of pupils, held once a year during the "Memorial of R. Myslik". Results: Results and conclusions of the work could be used in the training process for volleyball youth, especially to developing fitness assumptions, which are an integral part of the gaming achievement of the individual.
