Influence of conductive ceramics on the life of lead acid batteries
Tobolák, Jakub ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on lead-acid batteries used in hybrid electric vehicles. These cells work in specific conditions, particularly under partial charge referred to as PSOC. This fact is responsible for the premature loss of capacity cell lead-acid batteries and their short lifetime. The task of this thesis is to examine the effect of conductive ceramics as possible additives to the negative electrode active materials of lead-acid battery cells operating in a PSOC, in order to prolong their life.
Support of company management systems using available software tools
Panák, Petr ; Jandová, Kristýna (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Successful organisations are build upon effective management systems based on general values, concepts and processes, described not only in standards. While standards represent general requirements, area of expertise demands specific requirements. In both cases management systems are supported by suitable software tools making collaboration and workflow easier. The thesis focuses on correct evaluation of software tools adhering to relevant requirements of ISO standards. General evaluation criteria are outlined and then specified. Evalution approach, method and guide are created. Table and database editors are considered as possible evaluation tools. As an example, tools for organisation management support are evaluated. The practical part of the thesis describes a specific organisation and its needs for document and internal audit management, from which criteria, evaluation method and recommendations are drawn. At the end is described the counselling procedure.
Influence of titanium dioxide on the life of lead acid batteries with applied pressure
Řihák, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Hybrid electric vehicles use lead acid batteries operating under partial charge. Battery life of these batteries is dependent on the speed of development of lead sulphate (PbSO4) to the negative electrodes. Different admixtures are affected battery life. This work deals with the influence of titanium dioxide on the negative active material in lead battery. Mainly devoted to the influence of the applied pressure.
Optimization of the solar system designed for DHW school canteens heating
Doskočil, Filip ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Masters’s thesis describes the use of solar energy for solar thermal systems used for domestic hot water heating. It is about the size of the incident solar radiation on Earth. Distributes various types of solar collectors for water heating. It deals with the monitoring, remote management of this system and the design of optimal control used in this area.
Resistance measurement of corrosion layers with help of conductometric method
Juras, Jiří ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The work deals with topic of bipolar electrodes of lead-acid accumulator. Theoretical part of the thesis presents of comtenporary knowledge of the topic as it is described in scientific literature. Experimental part deals with conductometric method that is used in corrosion rate measurement of experimental electrodes.
Shadow effect on solar systems characteristic
Dus, Ondřej ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with study of shadow effect on solar system characteristic. The general aim is to design and create solar module for study of shadow effect and measurement under solar simulator.
Negative lead-acid battery electrode for hybrid electric vehicles
Dvořáček, Daniel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis briefly discusses the issue of electrochemical power sources, especially with a focus on lead-acid batteries operating in modes that are typical of hybrid electric vehicles. The theoretical part of the thesis should be a good basis for the subsequent practical part, in which several experimental electrodes and their parameters will be performed and evaluated. The output of the practical part will be conclusions regarding the influence of different variants of modified carbon used as an additive in the active material of the negative electrode on the capacity and life of cells
Observation of lead electrode surface by atomic force microscope AFM
Bouška, Marek ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis is focused on in situ observation of the negative electrode of the lead acid accumulator using atomic force microscopy AFM. Discussed topics are lead acid accumulator, atomic force microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and current knowledge of the in situ observation of the lead acid accumulator using AFM. The main task of this project is assembling the experimental cells, make in situ observation of the negative electrode surface of the lead acid accumulator. In the end evaluate if this method is suitable for the lead acid battery observation.
Health effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation
Gottvald, Martin ; Neoral, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with electromagnetic radiation in its frequency spectrum. It also divides radiation into ionizing and non-ionizing. The principle of its effects and possible health problems from radiation exposure are also described. Hygienic limits – the maximum allowable and reference values of non-ionizing radiation are analysed too. The thesis should prove that the things of everyday need do not threaten the lives of human beings and are in compliance with the regulation No. 1/2008 Sb. on Health Protection Against Non-Ionizing Radiation. Measurement of low-frequency part is carried out with the cooperation of The National Institute of Public Health. Measurement of high-frequency part was carried out in 3 flats. The aim of this measurement was to find out the change of power density with the moving in a flat and the influence of the barriers (in this case walls).
Investigation causes of the premature capacity loss in accumulator for hybrid electric vehicles
Vystrčil, Marek ; Bilko, Radek (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the results of two successive experiments. The first was focused on the influence of impurities in the active mass of negative electrode in PSoC (Partial State of Charge) mode, which simulates the conditions occurring in HEV (hybrid electric vehicle). In the second experiment, cells with the same additives were exposed to optimum downforce 4N/cm2, by which we wanted to prove the influence of pressure on life of VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) cells working in operating HEV conditions.
