Compatibilization effects on flow properties of immiscible polystyrene-polyolefin blends
Mikešová, Jana ; Starý, Zdeněk ; Kruliš, Zdeněk
The influence of mixed compatibilizers (mixtures of styrene-butadiene triblock copolymer with ethene-propene random copolymer on flow and mechanical properties of polystyrene/low-density polyethylene and polystyrene/polypropylene blends was studied and compared with the effects of SBS copolymers.
Vlivy směsných kompatibilizátorů na strukturu a tokové vlastnosti směsí polystyren/polyolefiny
Mikešová, Jana ; Starý, Zdeněk ; Fortelný, Ivan
The influence of a new compatibilization system (mixtures of styrene-butadiene triblock copolymer (SBS) with ethene-propene random copolymer (EPM)) on flow properties and morphology of polystyrene/low-density polyethylene and polystyrene/polypropylene bleds was studied.
Nanotechnology as potential method for recycling of PET bottles
Kráčalík, Milan ; Mikešová, Jana ; Pospíšil, L. ; Fortelný, Ivan ; Šimoník, J.
Recycling of PET worldwide is not sufficient. This issue results from decreasing molecular weight due to thermal, mechanical and hydrolytic degradation during multiple processing of polymer. The viscosity (next processability) of material can be increased by preparation of nanocomposites (formation of physical network in the polymer/clay system). The improved processing and utility properties of recycled PET were analyzed by rheology, morphology and tensile tests.
Melt rheology and morphology of compatibilized polystyrene/polyethylene blends
Mikešová, Jana ; Hromádková, Jiřina ; Hašová, Věra ; Fortelný, Ivan
The effect of molecular structure of styrene-butadiene block copolymers on the morphology and rheological propertiesof polystyrene/polyethylene blends was studied. I was shown that the addition of the copolymers with short styrene blocks leads to a higher increase in viscosity of PS/PE blends than the addition of the related copolymers with long styrene blocks.
Vliv .gamma.-záření na reologické vlastnosti tavenin ultravysokomolekulárního polyethylenu
Mikešová, Jana ; Nevoralová, Martina
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is widely used as material in orthopaedic implants. Melt rheology was used to evaluate the result of simultaneous crosslinking and chain scission process in the polymer, .gamma.-irradiated in the solid state. The predominant mechanism in the process was strongly influenced by irradiation dose and dose-rate. An important result was obtained for the polymer irradiated with the sterilization dose 25 kGy and stored in nitrogen when no significant degradation of the polymer was observed.
