Sternberg's - the aristocratics Society in the "long 19th Century"

The main aim of the thesis is to present an analysis of the younger Bohemian branch of Sternberg dynasty. Theresia of Sternberg - a Life of Noblewoman in the 19th Century
Tomsová, Petra ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to provide a view into the life of Theresia Countess of Sternberg, born Stadion-Thannhausen. This lady is not well-known in public sub- consciousness, only the castle visitors can meet her nowadays inside the castle of Český Šternberk, where her portrait is on display. Even though she is not known for any personal achievements, she offers a view into her personal life which makes it an interesting probe into the lives of 19th century nobility. Theresia of Sternberg was born in 1819 as the third child of Phillip Stadion- Thannhausen and his wife Marie Kunhuta, born Countess of Kesselstatt. She was 26 years old when she married into the old Czech lineage of Stenbergs. She had five children with her husband Zdeněk of Sternberg. Her life was extinguished in 1873. Her own biography further includes the history of the Sternberg clan as well as the sketch of Zdeněk of Sternberg life. The last but not least, the study should offer a view into the aristocracies' family surroundings and into their everyday lives. Keywords: Counts of Sternberg, History, 19. Century
