Magnetokalorický jev v Lu.sub.2./sub.Fe.sub.17./sub. a Y.sub.2./sub.Fe.sub.17./sub. za vysokých hydrostatických tlaků

Magneto-caloric effect of Lu2Fe17 and Y2Fe17 single crystals was measured at ambient pressure and under high hydrostatic pressure up to 1 GPa. Negative magneto-caloric effect was induced by high pressure in both the intermetallics in low-temperature range. Taking into consideration the first-order magnetic transition induced by pressure in Y2Fe17, the results of calculations of magnetic entropy change by Maxwell and by Clausius-Clapeyron equations were compared.

Magnetization, magnetocrystalline anisotropy and magnetic susceptibility of a single crystal of the Lu.sub.2./sub.Fe.sub.17./sub. intermetallic compound have been studied under hydrostatic pressure up to 1,2 GPa at temperatures down to 5 K using SQUID magnetometer.
Pressure induced non-collinear magnetic structures in the Fe intermetallics

Results of the magnetic structure studies of R.sub.2./sub.Fe.sub.17./sub. intermetallics with non-magnetic R (R=Y, Ce, Lu) are summarized. Generalized phase diagram is obtained and discussed in terms of the anisotropic pressure induced changes of the interatomic distances.
