Measurement of turbulence in the IT transonic wind tunnel
Uruba, Václav ; Jonáš, Pavel ; Antoš, Pavel
In the report results of turbulence measurement in the IT wind tunnel in Nový Knín are given.
Turbulence Measurement in the Model Turbine Škoda
Jonáš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav ; Antoš, Pavel ; Hoznedl, M. ; Sedlák, K.
Time-averaged unsteady flow characteristics were investigated by CTA thermoanemometer with a rotary hot-wire downstream the LP stage of the 10 MW experimental turbine ŠKODA. The direction and the magnitude of mean velocity vector, the components of turbulent heat transfer vector and the components of Reynolds stress tensor were evaluated from the measurement in the superheated water steam.
Turbulence Study of Skoda Turbine Cascade VZLU Wind Tunel
Uruba, Václav ; Jonáš, Pavel ; Antoš, Pavel ; Jelínek, T. ; Michálek, J.
Time-averaged unsteady flow characteristics were investigated using CTA thermoanemometer with a rotary hot-wire in the VZLÚ test facility for testing ŠKODA turbine linear cascades. Direction and magnitude of the mean velocity vector and the components of Reynolds stress tensor and other statistical characteristics were evaluated for given configurations.
Measurement of temperature fluctuations generated by parallel heat sources in a turbulent flow
Antoš, Pavel
Paper deals with the temperature field generated by a system of parallel heated wires placed in the turbulent flow. A variance of temperature fluctuation was evaluated from the thermoanemometry measurement employing a dual probe. Decay of the temperature fluctuations follows power law.
Velocity and Temperature Decay in Turbulent Flow behind Parallel Heat Sources
Antoš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav
Paper deals with the velocity and temperature field generated by a system of parallel heated wires placed in grid-generated turbulent flow. Development of the temperature field was studied for a number of configurations of grid generator and line heater was investigated experimentally. Decay of the temperature fluctuations was evaluated from thermoanemometry measurements.
HWA Measurement of Turbulent Diffusion of a Scalar Quantity
Antoš, Pavel
The paper deals with simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the scalar quantity by means of hot-wire anemometry. Statistical moments of the scalar quantity fluctuations can be obtained employing a dual hot-wire probe. An evaluation procedure of the mean values and the fluctuations is described. Results from the molar concentration measurement in binary-gas mixture are shown.
Development of Two-Sensor Hot-Wire Probes for Measurement of the Velocity and the Temperature
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton
Characteristics of a new two-sensor HWA probe designed for simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the flow temperature are described. A comparison with previously developed probe is given. Both tested probes were developed and manufactured at Fluid dynamics laboratory of the Institute of Thermomechanics.
An Overview of Hot-Wire Probes for Simultaneous Measurement of the Velocity and the Scalar Quantity
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
Paper deals with properties of multiple-sensor hot-wire probes which has been developed in Fluid Dynamics dept. of the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the concentration or the flow temperature.
Wavelet and POD Analysis of Turbulent Flow Within Street Canyon
Kellnerová, Radka ; Kukačka, Libor ; Uruba, Václav ; Antoš, Pavel ; Odin, J. ; Jaňour, Zbyněk
Wavelet analysis of flow inside the street canyon is applied on highrepetition PIV and high-frequency hot wire data. Experiment is performed in windchannel with floor covered by series of street canyons. The passage of sweep and ejection events is detected as being long-term signature in lower frequencies. The passage of vortex is recognizable as circular patterns in higher frequencies on Wavelet spectrum. When using velocity vectors as input data, proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) reveals the most dominant modes in terms of turbulent kinetic energy.
Measuremnt of Directional Characteristics of Three Type of Two-sensor Anemometry Probes
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
In the paper, there is a comparison of the directional characteristics of three types of two-sensor probes given in the paper. All tested probes were developed and manufactured at Fluid dynamics laboratory of the Institute of Thermomechanics.
