Práca približuje situáciu v DR Kongo od čias belgickej kolónie až po súčasnosť, zaoberá sa historickým vývojom krajiny, krvavými konfliktami koncom 20. storočia a misiou MONUC, ktorá v krajine pôsobí. To všetko je však ovplyvnené surovinovým potenciálom, ktorý má možnosť krajinu zbaviť nálepky rozvojová krajina, no zároveň môže tento status ešte viac prehĺbiť. Práce přibližuje situaci v DR Kongo od dob belgické kolonie až po současnost, zabývá se historickým vývojem země, krvavými konflikty koncem 20. století a misí MONUC, která v zemi působí. To vše je ovlivněno surovinovým potenciálem, který má možnost zemi zbavit nálepky rozvojová země, ale zároveň může tento status ještě více prohloubit. This thesis is about the situation in the DR Congo from the time of the Belgian colony till the present. It discusses the historical development of the country, bloody conflicts in the end of the 20th century and the OSN mission MONUC which operates in the country. All of this is influenced by the potential of natural resources that can raise the country from the developing countries group, but it can cause also a deeper slump.
