Tato práce se zabývá oborem umělé inteligence a s ním úzce spojenou otázkou, zda dokážeme vyrobit stroj schopný myslet. Shrnutím vývoje přirozeného života a inteligence jsou nastíněny východiska oboru, která jsou dokreslena popisem jeho vývoje, ale i vývojem počítačů. Práce kombinuje informatický a filozofický přístup, přičemž v rámci prvního shrnuje přístupy k umělé inteligenci, a to s důrazem na jeho sub-symbolické metody. Ty jsou poté využívány k vysvětlení možného vzniku inteligence. V rámci filozofického přístupu je reagováno na rozličné filozofické náhledy na konstrukci umělé inteligence, které se vyjadřují k fenoménům jako je vědomí, subjektivní zkušenost nebo problém mysli a těla. Autor oponuje použití intuice pro řešení myšlenkových experimentů zabývajících se myslí a argumentuje pro možnost realizace inteligentních strojů. Futurologické vize různých povah poté slouží jako poslední z východisek pro podání autorova názoru na budoucí vývoj umělé inteligence a lidskou schopnost sestrojit stroj schopný myslet. This work deals with the field of artificial intelligence and the interconnected question of the possibility to make thinking machines. The natural and human intelligence evolution summary outlines the starting points of the field. To give the clearer picture of the problem, I also describe the development of artificial intelligence branch and the development of computers. My work combines informatics and philosophical approaches. In the scope of the first one, I summarize different approaches to AI, with emphasis on sub-symbolic methods which are used afterwards to explain the concept of intelligence development. In the scope of the philosophical approach, the text deals with different philosophical points of view on making intelligent machines, which comment phenomena like consciousness, subjective experience or the body-mind problem. I contradict the use of intuition to solve the thought experiments dealing with mind and I argue for the possibility to make intelligent machines. The futurology visions are the last starting point for stating my opinion on the future development of IA and human ability to make the thinking machine.
