V této práci se zabývám rolí auditu ve finanční krizi 2007 - 2009. V první části se věnuji makroekonomickému pohledu na finanční krizi. Popisuji její příčiny, průběh a důsledky, které krize přinesla. V dalších kapitolách již rozebírám roli auditu na finančních trzích. Analyzuji vybrané soudní spory s každou z BIG 4 společností. Popisuji projekt Green Paper Evropské komise a další snahy o zvýšení kvality a věrohodnosti auditu. V poslední kapitole se zaměřuji na problematiku modelů oceňování reálnou hodnotou. The thesis "Role auditu ve finanční krizi" examines the role of auditors in the financial crisis 2007 - 2009. In the first part, I provide a general overview on the financial crisis describing its causes, development and consequences. In next chapters, I focus on the role of auditors in financial markets. I analyse selected court cases with all BIG 4 companies. Moreover, I describe Green Paper of the European Commission and other efforts to increase quality and credibility of auditing. The last part is devoted to the changes in fair value accounting regulation.
