Podpora a rozvíjení kulturního dědictví je úkolem nás všech. Financování české hudební kultury je často diskutovaným problémem mezi producenty, organizátory i umělci samotnými s nutným přesahem mezi posluchače - "běžné občany" (ti jsou zároveň ti nejdůležitější, neboť z jejich daňových prostředků je de facto celý systém financován). Byly a jsou finanční prostředky poukazované na podporu kultury dostatečné či nikoliv? Jak si vede tzv. soukromý sektor v této oblasti a jaký může být jeho kulturotvorný nebo i ekonomický přínos? Jaká jsou rizika veřejného financování, jaké má výhody, co je smyslem tzv. veřejné služby umění? Předmětem této magisterské práce, která navazuje na údaje z mé předchozí práce bakalářské, je zmapování finančních prostředků, které byly poskytnuty Ministerstvem kultury ČR, kraji a městy v roce 2004 na podporu významných hudebních institucí v České republice a orientační přehled nejdůležitějších finančních toků a institucí v oblasti tzv. soukromé sféry s důrazem na hudbu a kulturu jako prostředek humanizace společnosti. The cultural heritage of a country needs the support of the public as a whole to develop. Funding for the Czech musical heritage is a problem frequently discussed amongst producers, organizers, artists, and of course audiences, the "rank-and-file" members of the public. (Indeed, the last mentioned are the most important, since as taxpayers they actually support the whole system.) Has funding for the arts been sufficient? How is the private sector doing in this respect, and what else can it do to contribute to the support and growth of the arts? What are the risks of public funding, what are the advantages, and what is the point of ?public service for the arts?? The topic of my M.A. dissertation, which follows on from the research of my B.A. work, is to examine the funding provided in 2004 by the Czech Ministry of Culture, as well as the regions and municipalities, for the major music institutions in the Czech Republic. I seek to provide an overview of the most important sources of funding and institutions in the private sector, focusing on music and the arts in general as ways of making society more humane.
