cze Abstract:
Three materials taken from the Art Nouveau facade of the Bratmann villa in Valašské Klobouky were analyzed, specifically materials from decorative elements on the facade. The material of the cast decorative element is mortar containing Romanesque cement and fine quartz sand. The material on site of the modeled decorative element is mortar prepared from weakly to moderately hydraulic lime and quartz sand with a grain size of up to 1-2 mm. A thin black layer containing carbonaceous particles and gypsum is formed on the surface of the cast element due to weathering. The following are colored paints containing titanium white as a pigment, Fe particles, a calcium component, while the analysis technique used did not manage to determine whether the binder of the paints is lime or (also) organic resin. Optical microscopy and SEM-EDS method were used for the analysis.
