cze Abstract:
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the experimental evaluation of the MR-EPT (Magnetic Resonance Electrical Properties Tomography) method, which represents a modern approach to non-invasive quantitative mapping of electrical conductivity and permittivity in biological tissues. The main aim of this study was to assess the stability, accuracy, and reliability of conductivity measurements in a controlled phantom environment, with a focus on the influence of acquisition parameters and the selection of the region of interest (ROI). The results demonstrated a systematic overestimation of conductivity (by 0.025-0.05 S/m), associated with the properties of phase-based reconstruction algorithms. The most accurate quantitative estimation was achieved using a sequence with a wider receive bandwidth (LowWF). A key finding is the impact of boundary artifacts, which reduce conductivity values in peripheral regions by 15-40 % due to the violation of the local homogeneity assumption. In contrast, central regions exhibited high measurement stability. The study shows that the accuracy of the MR-EPT method is significantly influenced by the selection of the region of interest, and its practical application therefore requires careful consideration of the technical limitations of reconstruction algorithms.
