Typy a stereotypy anormativních žen v historických kronikách o období Korjŏ

(in English) Women in Korean history, and therefore in historiography, were not at the centre of attention because of their socially inferior function, unless their image served as an exemplum. Both positive and negative examples were formed in pre-Confucian times, but they were not firmly established until the first two centuries of the Chosŏn period. Only then were manuals of exemplary women created, which derive from the whole spectrum of social needs and role models; the negative types remained, more or less, in their shadow. Due to the limited attention paid to negative female types, this thesis focuses on the formation of negative stereotypes of women from the Koryŏ period who broke the law, social norms and/or customs. Records of them can be found in the chronicles Koryŏsa and Koryŏsa chŏryo, which also form the main source for this work; nevertheless, they also appear in later historical works, such as Tongguk t'onggam or Tongsa kangmok. However, all these chronicles were compiled only in the Chosŏn period, so they might have been significantly adapted to the ideology of the new dynasty. Therefore, the thesis does not aim at historical reconstruction but focuses on the typology and stereotyping of the negative image, up to the form to which women were reduced in popular literary texts....
