Disertační práce se zabývá literárním truchlením ve středoevropské literatuře druhé poloviny 20. a počátku 21. století. Pro tento druh psaní razí pojem thanatografie, který chápe jako autobiografické psaní o smrti blízké osoby, v němž smrt nepředstavuje pouhé téma nebo motiv, ale výchozí situaci literárního textu. Práce sleduje, jak se v těchto textech vyjednává napětí mezi singularitou ztráty a sdělností řeči, mezi osobním svědectvím a literární tradicí, mezi etikou a estetikou truchlení. Teoretická část uvádí thanatografii do dialogu s kritikou kulturního zacházení se smrtí ve 20. století, s psychoanalytickými teoriemi truchlení a traumatu (Freud, Derrida, Winnicott), s fenomenologií (Heidegger, Patočka) a literární teorií zaměřenou na autorskou sebestylizaci. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována středoevropskému kontextu, konkrétně prolínání strukturalistické tradice a jazykové skepse, přetrvávání barokního imaginária a odlišnému vztahu české a rakouské kultury k náboženství, smrti a truchlení. Interpretační část analyzuje sedm autorů a autorek rozdělených do tří konstelací: synové truchlící za matky (Peter Handke, Péter Esterházy); přátelé truchlící za jiné umělce (Bohumil Hrabal, Josef Winkler); a partnerky truchlící za své životní druhy (Friederike Mayröcker, Bohumila Grögerová, Daniela Hodrová).... This dissertation examines literary mourning in Central European literature of the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. It proposes the concept of thanatography, understood as autobiographical writing about the death of a close person, in which death functions not merely as theme or motif but as the originating situation of the literary text. The dissertation traces how such texts negotiate the tension between the singularity of loss and the communicability of language, between personal testimony and literary tradition, and between the ethics and aesthetics of grief. The theoretical section situates thanatography in dialogue with critiques of twentieth- century cultural attitudes toward death, with psychoanalytic theories of mourning and trauma (Freud, Derrida, Winnicott), with phenomenology (Heidegger, Patočka), and with literary theory focused on authorial self-stylization. Particular attention is paid to the Central European context: the interweaving of structuralist tradition and language skepticism, the persistence of baroque imagery, and the distinct relationships of Czech and Austrian culture to religion, death and mourning.
