Poetiky tvůrčí emancipace: Emerson, Nietzsche a Rancière

This dissertation develops a transatlantic genealogy of emancipatory pragmatism by examining the resonant philosophical and literary methods of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Jacques Rancière, and demonstrates their continuous vitality in modern American literature. Through a comparative philological method, the thesis argues that these thinkers share a strong concern for perspectivism, anti-conceptualism, emancipatory creativity, and reverential individualism, protecting the democratic dignity of every individual. Emerson's fluid, yet transcendental metaphysics establishes the foundation for a pragmatic, anti-hierarchical mode of thought later taken up and developed by Nietzsche in his critique of truth, conceptual rigidity, and leading to his philosophy of immanence. Rancière further extends this lineage by theorizing his distribution of the sensible, subjectivization, and his concept of literarity, articulating a profoundly democratic theory of aesthetics, grounded in the equality of intelligence. Building on this philosophical framework, the final chapter interprets three modern American writers, namely Frank O'Hara, Amiri Baraka, and Ralph Ellison, as practitioners of neo-pragmatic, emancipatory poetics.
