Tato léčba je obecně účinná, ale existuje riziko šíření těchto léků a jejich metabolitů exkrementy zvířat do životního prostředí. To může mít škodlivé účinky na necílové druhy včetně rostlin. V této studii jsme se zaměřili na příjem anthelmintik z půdy do plodin, konkrétně albendazolu a jeho primárního metabolitu ricobendazolu, a jejich následnou akumulaci v rostlinách. Pro tento projekt jsme zvolili běžně pěstované zemědělské plodiny - ředkvičky, mrkev, salát a rajčata. Rostliny byly pěstovány v půdě obohacené anthelmintiky. Po sklizni byly rostliny lyofilizovány, anthelmintika extrahována a jejich obsah v kořenech, případně listech (salát) či plodech (rajče), byl stanoven pomocí kapalinové chromatografie ve spojení s hmotnostní spektrometrií (LC-MS). Výsledky této studie naznačily určité riziko přestupu anthelmintik z půdy do rostlin. Metabolity albendazolu byly detekovány a kvantifikovány v kořenech rajčat... This treatment is generally effective but there is a risk of spreading these drugs and their metabolites through feces to the environment. That can have some harmful effects to non-target species including plants. In this study, we focused on the uptake of anthelmintics from soil to crops, specifically albendazole and its primary metabolite ricobendazole, and their subsequent accumulation in plants. For this project, we have chosen commonly grown farm crops - radishes, carrots, lettuce and tomatoes. The plants were grown in soil enriched with anthelmintics. After harvesting, the plants were freeze-dried, the anthelmintics were extracted and their content in the roots, or leaves (lettuce) or fruits (tomato) was determined using liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
