Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá procesem rozšiřování Evropské unie po roce 2022 v kontextu fundamentální proměny bezpečnostního prostředí, kterou vyvolala ruská invaze na Ukrajinu. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je analyzovat, zda tento bezprecedentní exogenní šok inicioval tzv. critical juncture (kritický zlom) v geopolitickém a institucionálním vývoji EU, a posoudit, zda unijní integrace nastolila novou vývojovou trajektorii, či zda jde pouze o dočasný krizový management. Z metodologického hlediska je práce koncipována jako kvalitativní theory-testing případová studie ukotvená v paradigmatu historického institucionalismu. Výzkum využívá deduktivní přístup, analýzu unijního diskurzu a politického framingu. Analytický model testuje proměnu ve třech klíčových dimenzích: geopolitické reorientaci, normativní rekalibraci identity a institucionální adaptaci. Výsledky práce ukazují, že válka zafungovala jako silný katalyzátor, který prolomil dlouhodobou "únavu z rozšiřování" a naplnil teoretické kritérium kontingence. EU prokazatelně opustila čistě normativně-transformační přístup a adaptovala demarkační logiku, v níž rozšiřování slouží jako asertivní geostrategický a bezpečnostní nástroj. This master's thesis examines the process of European Union enlargement post-2022 within the context of the fundamental transformation of the security environment triggered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The primary objective of the research is to analyze whether this unprecedented exogenous shock initiated a so-called critical juncture in the geopolitical and institutional development of the EU, and to assess whether EU integration has embarked on a new developmental trajectory or if it is merely temporary crisis management. From a methodological perspective, the thesis is conceived as a qualitative theory-testing case study anchored in the paradigm of historical institutionalism. The research employs a deductive approach, EU discourse analysis, and political framing. The analytical model tests the transformation across three key dimensions: geopolitical reorientation, normative identity recalibration, and institutional adaptation. The findings indicate that the war acted as a powerful catalyst, breaking the long-standing "enlargement fatigue" and fulfilling the theoretical criterion of contingency.
