Relative Age Effect představuje nerovnoměrné zastoupení sportovců podle data narození ve vztahu k hranici věkové kategorizace. V ledním hokeji může tento jev významně ovlivňovat proces výběru, hodnocení a dlouhodobého rozvoje hráčů, zejména v mládežnických a juniorských kategoriích. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo analyzovat výskyt, intenzitu a vývoj Relative Age Effectu v českém hokejovém prostředí mezi lety 2003-2025 a posoudit, zda se projevy tohoto jevu lišily podle věkové kategorie, sledovaného období, hráčského postu a změn ve struktuře mládežnických soutěží. Navazujícím cílem bylo na základě zjištěných výsledků a teoretických východisek formulovat možná doporučení a intervenční přístupy směřující ke zmírnění intenzity a negativních dopadů tohoto jevu. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 11 123 hráčských záznamů z nejvyšších soutěžních kategorií českého ledního hokeje. Analyzovány byly kategorie mužů, juniorů (U20) a vybrané mládežnické kategorie ve třech sledovaných obdobích: 2003-2005, 2013-2015 a 2023-2025. Hráči byli rozděleni podle kvartálu narození, přičemž očekávané četnosti byly stanoveny s ohledem na počet dní v jednotlivých kvartálech. Pro statistické vyhodnocení byl použit chí-kvadrát test dobré shody, Cramérovo 𝑉, odds ratio, 95% intervaly spolehlivosti a post hoc analýza. Výsledky ukázaly,... Relative Age Effect refers to the uneven representation of athletes according to their date of birth in relation to the cut-off date used for age categorization. In ice hockey, this phenomenon may significantly influence the processes of player selection, evaluation, and long-term development, particularly in youth and junior categories. The aim of this master's thesis was to analyse the occurrence, intensity, and development of the Relative Age Effect in the Czech ice hockey environment between 2003 and 2025, and to examine whether its manifestations differed according to age category, observed period, playing position, and changes in the structure of youth competitions. A related aim was to formulate possible recommendations and intervention strategies, based on the obtained results and theoretical background, aimed at reducing the intensity and negative consequences of this phenomenon. The research sample consisted of 11,123 player records from the highest competitive categories of Czech ice hockey. The analysed categories included men, juniors (U20), and selected youth categories across three observed periods: 2003-2005, 2013-2015, and 2023- 2025.
