Objektivizace nosní průchodnosti Srovnání flowmetrie a vrcholové nosní průtokové rychlosti Souhrn Úvod Nosní obstrukce je jeden z nejčastějších příznaků chorob nosní dutiny. K hodnocení míry nosní obstrukce je možné v běžné praxi využít přístroje k objektivizaci nosní průchodnosti. Naším cílem bylo porovnat subjektivní vnímání nosní průchodnosti pacientem s výsledky naměřenými flowmetrem a vrcholovou nosní průtokovou rychlostí (PNIF). Materiál a Metodika U pacientů s nosní obstrukcí a zdravých dobrovolníků jsme za sledované období zaznamenávali subjektivní hodnocení nosní průchodnosti na vizuálně-analogové škále (VAS), prováděli vyšetření zevního nosu, endoskopické vyšetření nosní dutiny, a změřili nosní průtok každou stranou nosní dutiny zvlášť pomocí flowmetru a PNIF-měřiče. U pacientů s hypertrofií skořep byl dále proveden anemizační test a poté znovu změřen průtok nosní dutiny flowmetrem. Výsledky Za sledované období jsme získali data 171 pacientů (105 mužů a 66 žen) a celkem 342 stran nosních dutin. Byly zjištěny slabé korelace mezi hodnotami VAS a hodnotami naměřenými flowmetrem a PNIF (r=0,248, resp. r=0,379). Velmi slabá korelace byla zjištěna mezi hodnotami naměřenými flowmetrem a PNIF (r=0,139). U skupiny pacientů bez hypertrofie skořep a s žádnou nebo mírnou deviací nosního septa rozdělených do... Objectification of Nasal Patency A Comparison of Flowmetry and Peak Nasal Inspiratory Flow Summary Introduction Nasal obstruction is one of the most common symptoms of nasal diseases. In routine practice, devices that objectively measure nasal patency can be used to assess the extent of the obstruction. We aimed to compare patients' subjective perception of nasal patency with results measured using a flowmeter and peak nasal inspiratory flow (PNIF). Material and methods We recorded subjective assessments of nasal patency on a visual analogue scale (VAS) and performed external nose examination and endoscopy of the nasal cavity in patients with nasal obstruction and healthy volunteers. We measured nasal flow on each side of the nasal cavity separately using a flowmeter and a PNIF meter during the study period. Patients with turbinate hypertrophy underwent an anemization test, after which nasal cavity flow was measured again using a flowmeter. Results During the study period, we obtained data from a total of 342 nasal cavity sides of 171 patients (105 men and 66 women). We found weak correlations between VAS values and values measured by the flowmeter and PNIF (r = 0.248 and r = 0.379, respectively).
