Tato diplomová práce se zabývá konceptem Boha jako inteligentního návrháře v kontextu současné debaty mezi vědou a vírou. Ústředním pramenem je kniha Intelligent Design Creationism and Its Critics, obsahující mimo jiné příspěvek Alvina Plantingy a souhrn postojů od Plantingova zastánců až po jeho odpůrce. Cílem této práce je kriticky vyhodnotit, co v teorii inteligentního designu lze považovat za pseudovědecké, a co může být filozoficky či teologicky inspirativní. Současně poukazujeme na společné i odlišné důrazy s oficiálním postojem katolické církve. Práce rozlišuje mezi vědeckými, filozofickými a náboženskými přístupy k otázce původu a smyslu světa a analyzuje Plantingovu pozici jako specifický případ, která nepodléhá vědeckému redukcionismu. This thesis examines the concept of God as an intelligent designer within the context of the contemporary debate between science and faith. Its central source is the volume Intelligent Design Creationism and Its Critics, which includes, among other contributions, a text by Alvin Plantinga and presents a spectrum of positions ranging from proponents of intelligent design to its critics. The aim of this study is to critically evaluate which elements of intelligent design theory may be considered pseudoscientific and which, by contrast, may serve as a source of philosophical or theological insight. At the same time, the thesis identifies both convergences and divergences between intelligent design and the official position of the Catholic Church. The work distinguishes between scientific, philosophical, and religious approaches to the question of the origin and meaning of the world, and it analyzes Plantinga's position as a distinctive case that resists scientific reductionism.
