Tato diplomová práce se zabývá mediální reprezentací sportovců a sportovkyň v českém tisku. Cílem je analyzovat, jak se tato reprezentace proměňovala v letech 2003, 2013 a 2023 a zjistit, zda dochází k vyrovnávání rozdílů mezi zobrazováním mužů a žen. Výzkum je založen na kvantitativní obsahové analýze tří deníků, Mladé fronty DNES, Práva a deníku Sport, která je doplněna o krátkou kvalitativní analýzu vybraných textů. Studie sleduje zastoupení jednotlivých pohlaví, rozsah a zaměření textů, sporty, ve kterých jsou muži a ženy prezentováni a vizuální reprezentaci na fotografiích. Výsledky ukazují, že mužský sport napříč lety dominuje jak v počtu publikovaných textů, tak ve vizuální reprezentaci. Přestože byl zaznamenán mírný nárůst zastoupení ženského sportu, rozdíly mezi muži a ženami zůstávají zásadní. Muži jsou prezentováni hlavně prostřednictvím kolektivních sportů s důrazem na výkon, ženy jsou spojovány s individuálními sporty a v některých případech s tématy sportovní výkon přesahující. Nasbíraná data ukazují, že mediální obraz sportu v českém tisku zůstává výrazně genderově nevyvážený a že k jeho proměně dochází velmi pomalu. This thesis examines the media representation of male and female athletes in the Czech press. The aim is to analyse how this representation has changed between 2003, 2013 and 2023 and to determine whether the disparities in the portrayal of men and women are narrowing. The research is based on a quantitative content analysis of three daily newspapers - Mladá fronta DNES, Právo and Sport - supplemented by a brief qualitative analysis of selected texts. The study examines the representation of each gender, the scope and focus of the texts, the sports in which women are featured, and visual representation in photographs. The results show that men's sports have dominated over the years in both the number of published articles and visual representation. Although a slight increase in the representation of women's sports was observed, the differences between men and women remain significant. Men are primarily presented through team sports with an emphasis on performance, while women are associated with individual sports and, in some cases, with topics beyond athletic performance. The collected data show that the media portrayal of sports in the Czech press remains significantly gender-unbalanced and that change is occurring very slowly.
