eng Abstract:
[eng][cze] Traditional models of evolution often assume a constant variance in the quantitative traits of offspring across different parental pairs. In cultural evolution, this assumption is vi- olated by Weber's psychophysical law; in biological evolution, it can be disrupted when the effects of alleles affecting a given trait do not sum, but multiply. In both cases, offspring variability increases with the mean trait value of the parents (or sources of inspiration). To characterize the evolutionary dynamics under these conditions within a non-particulate inheritance model, we utilized individual-based simulations combined with a continuous mathematical model describing the probability densities of trait distri- butions. The most prominent finding is that, at equilibrium, the trait distribution within the population is skewed, and statistical measures of central tendency, such as the mean, deviate from the selection optimum. This phenomenon necessitates the formalization of multigenerational reproductive fitness - a metric characterizing an individual's long-term evolutionary success, i.e., the number of reproducing offspring in subsequent generations. To predict long-term evolutionary success, maximizing the number of grandchildren is typically (though not exclusively) sufficient. Furthermore, we...Tradiční modely evoluce často předpokládají konstantní rozptyl hodnot kvantitativních znaků potomků u různých rodičovských párů.
