cze Abstract:
This diploma thesis examines the transformation of communication by selected alcohol producers on Instagram in relation to the debate on changing consumption patterns among Generation Z. The theoretical part situates the topic within public health, regulatory and marketing frameworks, focusing on alcohol as a risky commodity, responsible drinking, the NoLo category, and the specifics of Instagram communication. The empirical part is based on a qualitative analysis of 130 Instagram posts from seven profiles and seven expert interviews with respondents from marketing, prevention, and public health backgrounds. The findings suggest a shift from ceremonial and product-oriented framing towards communication centred on everyday life, participation, personal wellbeing, and conscious choice. Non-alcoholic and low-alcohol variants also play a more prominent role in newer communication and can be understood not only as product alternatives, but also as tools of brand extension and reputational adaptation. The thesis does not provide audience reception research, but offers an exploratory account of how alcohol-brand communication is changing in the digital environment.
