cze Abstract:
[cze][eng] Lesy jsou klíčové globální ekosystémy, které pokrývají přibližně 31 % zemského povrchu. Hrají zásadní roli v udržování biodiverzity, regulaci biogeochemických a hydrologických cyklů a zmírňování klimatických změn prostřednictvím sekvestrace uhlíku. Data byla získána z mezinárodních databází s otevřeným přístupem, konkrétně FAOSTAT a World Bank Open Data. Data byla zpracována pomocí korelační analýzy. Práce vysvětluje vztah mezi změnou lesnatosti a proměnnými zahrnujícími populační růst, expanzi zemědělské půdy, geografickou šířku, HDP na obyvatele a velikost země. Regionální analýza Jižní Ameriky, Severní Ameriky, Evropské unie a nejméně rozvinutých zemí prokázala významné rozdíly. Zatímco Evropská unie vykázala zalesňování jak regenerujícími lesy, tak plantážemi, Jižní a Střední Amerika a nejméně rozvinuté země zaznamenaly závažnou a pokračující ztrátu lesů. Severní Amerika vykazovala relativní stabilitu s...Forests are key global ecosystems that cover approximately 31% of the Earth's land surface. They play an essential role in sustaining biodiversity, regulating biogeochemical and hydrological cycles, and mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration. Furthermore, forests are vital for human well-being, providing humanity with many ecosystem services. Despite their importance, global forest stability is under threat, primarily due to anthropogenic pressure, this threat shows high regional variation. This bachelor thesis analyses the geographic distribution of deforestation and its primary socioeconomic and ecological drivers across 119 countries during the period 1990-2022. Data were obtained from open-access international databases, namely FAOSTAT and World Bank Open Data. Data were processed using correlation analysis. The thesis explains the relationship between forest cover change and variables including population growth, agricultural land expansion, geographic latitude, GDP per capita, and country size. Regional analysis of Northern America, Southern America, European Union and Least Developed Countries demonstrated significant differences. While the European Union demonstrated afforestation by both naturally regenerating forest and plantations, South and Central America and the Least...
