cze Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the standardized reporting of sequence-based STR polymorphisms in accordance with the latest ISFG recommendations. It builds on the bachelor's thesis of L. Milotová (2024) and further develops her bioinformatic tool. The aim is to implement the current nomenclature rules and adapt the output to meet the requirements of the forensic laboratory of the Institute of Criminalistics, to evaluate the tool using new datasets generated with additional forensic kits, and to extend its functionality to include Y-STR locus analysis. The thesis will also compare existing software solutions (e.g., STRait Razor, toaSTR) that address similar tasks and validate the proposed system against one of these tools. The outcome will be a standardized reporting format that fully exploits the informational potential of sequencing data, facilitating the comparison of crime-scene samples with reference profiles in forensic practice.
