Diplomová práce se věnuje chápání a konstrukci významu prostoru města a konkrétního bodu věže skrz generace obyvatel Liberce. Hlavním cílem práce je etnografický výzkum a analýza problematiky kolektivní paměti pomocí pozorování, dotazování a rozhovorů. Dále diplomová práce analyzuje znalosti, prožitky, hodnoty i názory respondentů a jejich interpretace. Zjišťován je vztah obyvatel města k jejich krajině, pocity a emoce vázané k historickým událostem a následný vliv na sebeidentifikaci, vnímání okolního prostředí. Text představuje signifikanci a situování místa v průběhu času představením jeho změn v historii a socio-kulturním prostředí, které v průběhu několika posledních desetiletí mnohokrát zásadně změnily a ovlivnily jeho hodnotu. The main aim of the thesis is ethnographic research and analysis of the issue of collective memory through observation, questioning and interviews. Further, it analyses the experiences, values and opinions of respondents, and their interpretations. It also describes the relationship of the city's inhabitants to their landscape, feelings and emotions tied to historical events and the subsequent impact on self-identification and perception of the surrounding environment. The text presents the significance and positioning of the place over time by showing its changes in history and socio-cultural environment, which has changed many times over the last few decades, fundamentally affecting its meaning.
