Cílem této práce je informovat čtenáře o současném postavení českých snímků a jejich tvůrců na mezinárodním trhu. V první kapitole je pouze stručně nastíněn historický vývoj českého filmového exportu včetně činnosti vývozního úseku Československého film ? Filmexportu. Další kapitoly reflektují zahraniční povědomí o současné české kinematografii v kontrastu se současnými trendy v mezinárodní tvorbě. Poukazují přitom také na rozdílné strukturální a ekonomické postavení mezi západoevropskými filmy a snímky z bývalého východoevropského bloku. Ve finále se autor snaží prezentovat spolupráci s Českým filmovým centrem a sales agentem jako cestu, která může zefektivnit snahu nezávislého producenta prosadit jeho snímek do zahraniční distribuce, a poukazuje na mechanismy, jak by tato spolupráce měla fungovat. The ultimate goal of this essay is to inform the reader about current position of Czech films and their authors in the international film market. The first chapter gives brief account of historical development in Czechoslovak filmexport. Following chapters describe foreign awareness of contemporary Czech cinematography in a contrast to current trends of international film production and also advert to different structural and economic stance between films from Eastern and Western Europe. Finally, the author tries to present the partnership with Czech Film Center and a sales agent as a possibility that improves the pursuit of an independent producer to put his film through in the foreign distribution and the author adverts mechanisms how this partnership should look like.
