cze Abstract:
Ondřej Provazník) a Otec (2025, r. Práce kombinuje interpretační analýzu vybraných filmových scén, recepční výzkum formou fokusní skupiny s deseti respondenty a rozhovory s tvůrci hudby Jonatánem Pastirčákem a Ondřejem Mikulou. This master's thesis examines the function of film music in relation to audience reception through the analysis of three contemporary films from the Czech and Slovak context: Waves (2024, dir. Jiří Mádl), Broken Voices (2025, dir. Ondřej Provazník) and Father (2025, dir. Tereza Nvotová). Each film represents a distinct approach to sound: Waves relies on a compilation soundtrack consisting of pre-existing recordings, Broken Voices builds on an original score and choral singing tied to the characters' perspectives, and Father presents a hybrid model in which music merges with sound design to convey the protagonist's subjective sonic experience. The thesis combines interpretive analysis of selected film scenes, reception research conducted through a focus group of ten respondents, and interviews with composers Jonatán Pastirčák and Ondřej Mikula. The research demonstrates that music actively organises narrative structure, emotional impact and the identity of each film, although through different means in each case. It further shows that the degree to which viewers can verbalise their experience of music does not correspond to the depth of its effect, that silence functions as a fully-fledged dramaturgical device, and that the cultural memory activated by compilation soundtracks is asymmetric across...
