Diplomová práce se zabývá ulsterskou poezií v kontextu dlouhodobého etnopolitického a sektářského konfliktu tzv. nepokojů a zkoumá, jakým způsobem se v básnické tvorbě odrážejí otázky identity, místa a vykořenění. Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat poezii tří významných ulsterských básníků: Seamuse Heaneyho, Dereka Mahona a Michaela Longleyho, a ukázat, jak jejich tvorba reaguje na politický, kulturní a historický kontext Severního Irska druhé poloviny 20. století. Práce se soustředí na klíčové pojmy, jako jsou identita, krajina, domov, místo a vykořenění, a sleduje jejich proměny v závislosti na individuální i kolektivní zkušenosti. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována vztahu poezie a politiky a otázce, zda a jakým způsobem může poezie reflektovat či spoluutvářet společenský diskurz v období konfliktu. Teoretické zázemí práce vychází ze sémiotiky a poststrukturalistického myšlení, konkrétně z konceptů Rolanda Barthese, Jacquese Derridy a Michela Foucaulta. Prostřednictvím jejich přístupů práce analyzuje významové struktury básnického jazyka a ukazuje, jak se v poezii konstruují a proměňují klíčové pojmy spojené s identitou a kulturní příslušností. Výsledkem je interpretace ulsterské poezie jako specifického prostoru, v němž dochází k dynamickému propojení osobní zkušenosti, historické paměti a jazykového... Poetry of Troubled Ulster This thesis examines Northern Irish (Ulster) poetry in the context of The Troubles and explores how questions of identity, place, and displacement are reflected in poetic works. The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the poetry of three prominent Ulster poets - Seamus Heaney, Derek Mahon, and Michael Longley - and to demonstrate how their work responds to the political, cultural, and historical context of Northern Ireland in the second half of the twentieth century. The thesis focuses on key concepts such as identity, landscape, home, place, and displacement, and traces their transformations in relation to both individual and collective experience. Special attention is paid to the relationship between poetry and politics, as well as to the question of whether and how poetry can reflect or actively shape social discourse in times of conflict. The theoretical framework of the thesis is grounded in semiotics and poststructuralist thought, drawing in particular on the concepts of Roland Barthes, Jacques Derrida, and Michel Foucault. Through these approaches, the thesis analyses the structures of meaning in poetic language and demonstrates how key concepts related to identity and cultural belonging are constructed and transformed in poetry.
