Tato disertační práce představuje studii, jejíž cílem bylo zmapovat předpoklady pro rozvoj aritmetických dovedností u žáků mladšího školního věku. Respondenti plnili úkoly zaměřené na odhad i symbolizaci množství i na exekutivní funkce a prostorové schopnosti. Konkrétně se výzkumné šetření zaměřilo na hledání prediktorů matematických dovedností pomocí faktorové a regresní analýzy, která potvrdila velký význam plynulosti při práci s číselnými symboly vzhledem k výsledkům ve standardizovaném testu matematických schopností a dovedností. Dále bylo realizováno porovnání rozdílů ve výkonech žáků s obtížemi v matematice a kontrolní skupinou žáků. Výkony žáků s obtížemi v matematice se od výkonů dětí bez identifikovaných obtíží lišily zejména v testech zaměřených na porovnávání číselných symbolů a na samotné početní dovednosti. Významné, třebaže menší rozdíly mezi skupinami se projevily také při nesymbolickém porovnávání množství a v oblasti prostorových schopností (mentální rotace). Z hlediska přesnosti jsme neshledali statisticky významné rozdíly mezi skupinami v žádné ze sledovaných oblastí. Výsledky poukazují na úzký vztah mezi rychlostí symbolizace množství a úrovní aritmetických dovedností. V rámci závěrečné diskuze práce předkládá návrhy pro budoucí výzkum. This dissertation maps predictors of the development of arithmetic skills in young school- age pupils. Respondents completed tasks targeting quantity estimation and symbolization, as well as executive functions and spatial abilities. Specifically, the research focused on identifying predictors of mathematical skills using factor and regression analyses, which confirmed the strong importance of fluency in working with numerical symbols for performance on a standardized test of mathematical abilities and skills. In addition, performance differences were examined between pupils with mathematical learning difficulties and a control group. Pupils with mathematical learning difficulties differed from children without identified difficulties primarily on tests of numeric-symbol comparison and on arithmetic/numeracy tasks. Significant, though smaller, between-group differences also emerged in non-symbolic quantity comparison and in spatial abilities (mental rotation). In terms of accuracy, no statistically significant group differences were found in any of the assessed domains. The results point to a close relationship between the speed of quantity symbolization and the level of arithmetic skills. The concluding discussion presents proposals for future research.
