Moderní farmakoterapie představuje významný léčebný benefit. Na druhé straně však způsobuje kontaminaci životního prostředí vylučovanými rezidui léčiv a jejich metabolitů, což představuje nebezpečí pro živé organismy jak v důsledku přímé interakce, tak i z hlediska kontaminace potravních řetězců. V důsledku společenských změn dochází k výraznému nárůstu spotřeby psychofarmak, která i ve zbytkových koncentracích mohou mít nezanedbatelné dopady na člověka i divokou přírodu. V práci byly experimentálně studovány možnosti dekontaminace vodných médií ve smyslu fytoremediačních technologií a kontaminace potravních řetězců v modelovém uspořádání s rostlinami kukuřice (Zea mays L.). Studovaná léčiva byla ze skupiny psychofarmak, a to antidepresivum trazodon a anxiolytikum hydroxyzin. V kultivačních experimentech byly stanoveny úbytky koncentrací studovaných látek v kultivačním médiu a následně extrahovatelná rezidua jako parametr translokace kontaminantu do nadzemních částí rostlin. V průběhu 14 až 19-denního experimentu byl prokázán úbytek 75-86 % výchozího množství trazodonu a 88-93 % hydroxyzinu v médiu. V kořenech rostlin bylo poté nalezeno výrazně větší množství extrahované látky (v maximech do 8 %), listy obsahovaly do 2 % výchozího množství extrahovaného léčiva. On the other hand, however, it causes contamination of the environment with excreted drug residues and their metabolites, which poses a danger to living organisms both as a result of direct interaction and in terms of contamination of food chains. As a result of social changes, there is a significant increase in the consumption of psychotropic drugs, which even in residual concentrations can have significant impacts on humans and wildlife. This work experimentally studied the possibilities of decontamination of aqueous media in terms of phytoremediation technologies and contamination of food chains in a model arrangement with corn plants (Zea mays L.). The studied drugs were from the group of psychotropic drugs, namely the antidepressant trazodone and the anxiolytic hydroxyzine. In cultivation experiments, the decreases in the concentrations of the studied substances in the cultivation medium and subsequently the extractable residues as a parameter of contaminant translocation to the above-ground parts of plants were determined. During the 14-19-day experiment, a loss of 75-86% of the initial amount of trazodone and 88-93% of hydroxyzine in the medium was demonstrated.
