eng Abstract:
[eng][cze] This thesis extends MSIM, a light-weight educational computer simulator supporting MIPS R4000 and RISC-V architectures, with an emulation of the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. The emulation operates at the object layer, modelling CAN frames with identifiers, data payloads, and control flags, rather than simulating individual bits on a physical wire. We design and implement a CAN controller device within MSIM, a shared bus core for message routing between multiple controllers, and a bridge to the Linux SocketCAN interface enabling communication with external CAN tools and hardware. A CAN driver and kernel-level tests for a small educational operating system demonstrate the emulation. The work enables students and developers to write and test CAN device drivers entirely in software, without access to physical CAN hardware.Tato práce rozšiřuje MSIM, lehký vzdělávací simulátor počítače podporující archi- tektury MIPS R4000 a RISC-V, o emulaci sběrnice CAN (Controller Area Network). Emulace pracuje na objektové vrstvě a modeluje CAN rámce s identifikátory, datovým obsahem a řídícími příznaky, namísto simulace jednotlivých bitů na fyzickém vodiči. Na- vrhujeme a implementujeme zařízení CAN řadiče v MSIM, sdílené jádro sběrnice pro směrování zpráv mezi více řadiči a most k rozhraní Linux SocketCAN umožňující komu- nikaci s externími nástroji a hardwarem CAN. Ovladač CAN a testy na úrovni jádra pro malý vzdělávací operační systém demonstrují funkčnost emulace. Práce umožňuje studen- tům a vývojářům psát a testovat ovladače CAN zařízení čistě softwarově, bez přístupu k fyzickému hardwaru CAN.
