Diplomová práce se zabývá konspiračními teoriemi v kontextu 19. století se zvláštním důrazem na jejich propojení s antisemitismem a mediálním obrazem židovské bankovní rodiny Rothschildů. Cílem práce je analyzovat vznik, šíření a proměny konspiračních narativů a ukázat, jak se tyto myšlenkové vzorce formovaly v prostředí dobového tisku a společnosti. Teoretická část vymezuje pojem konspirační teorie, sleduje jeho historický vývoj a vysvětluje psychologické a sociální mechanismy, které stojí za vírou v konspirační narativy. Zároveň se zaměřuje na vývoj antisemitismu od náboženského antijudaismu k moderním formám politického, rasového a ekonomického antisemitismu. Důraz je kladen na 19. století jako období zásadních společenských změn, v němž se konspirační myšlení propojuje s nacionalismem, kapitalismem a rozvojem masových médií. Práce dále analyzuje vznik mýtů o rodině Rothschildů a ukazuje, jak byly reálné historické události transformovány do konspiračních narativů o skryté finanční moci. Pozornost je věnována i českému prostředí, kde se antisemitismus a konspirační stereotypy formovaly v tisku a veřejné debatě. Praktická část je založena na kvalitativní analýze článků z vybraných periodik 19. století (např. The Times, The New York Times, Národní listy) a zkoumá, jak byl obraz Rothschildů... This thesis examines conspiracy theories in the context of the nineteenth century, with a particular focus on their connection to antisemitism and the media portrayal of the Jewish banking family Rothschild. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the emergence, dissemination, and transformation of conspiratorial narratives and to demonstrate how these patterns of thinking were shaped within the contemporary press and society. The theoretical part defines the concept of conspiracy theory, traces its historical development, and explains the psychological and social mechanisms underlying belief in such narratives. It also explores the evolution of antisemitism from religious anti-Judaism to modern political, racial, and economic forms. Attention is paid to the nineteenth century as a period of profound social change, in which conspiratorial thinking became intertwined with nationalism, capitalism, and the rise of mass media. The thesis further analyses the emergence of myths surrounding the Rothschild family and shows how real historical events were transformed into narratives of hidden financial power. The Czech context is also addressed, highlighting the role of the press and public discourse in shaping antisemitic and conspiratorial stereotypes.
