cze Abstract:
Magnetic particle spectroscopy (MPS) is an emerging spectroscopic method with great application potential in medicine. Principle of this method is also used in magnetic particle imaging (MPI). This application requires so-called tracers, i.e. nanoparticles with a strong and well-defined signal, which can be used not only for imaging. In this work we focus on prepared magnetic nanoparticles with the composition Co1−xNixFe2O4, where x = 0; 0.1; 0.3; 0.5; 0.7; 0.9; 1. In addition to powder samples, samples in the form of suspensions were also prepared: part of the nanoparticles was coated in silica, while another part was stabilised by L-tartrate. The samples were characterized using XRF, XRD, TEM, and DLS. Furthermore, magnetic properties of the samples were measured, and the distribution of blocking temperatures of the nanoparticles was determined. For suspension samples, the MPS signal was measured, and nanoparticles with best results were then used for MPI. The MPS and MPI results were compared with commercially available agent ferumoxytol. It was found out that samples with x = 0.9 and x = 1 outperform this agent in signal quality.
