Tato diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou reprezentací sexuálních orientací v seriálu Sexuální výchova vnímanou diváky s queer identitou. V teoretické části práce je představeno queer publikum a streamovací platformy, jejich algoritmy a publika. Pozornost je pak soustředěna zejména na mediální reprezentaci queer osob, na její roli ve společnosti, ale i na atributy, které jsou s ní spojené. Jedná se mimo jiné o stereotypizaci, otázku autenticity vyobrazení a identitárního vztahu herce a postavy, ale také strategie tvůrců pořadů, jako je např. queerbaiting. Praktická část práce je provedena metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Následná analýza využívá principy zakotvené teorie; rozhovory s queer diváctvem jsou kódovány a kategorie, které byly při analýze pojmenovány, jsou podrobně představeny. This thesis explores the representation of sexual orientations in the television series Sex Education as perceived by viewers who identify as queer. The theoretical section introduces the concept of queer audiences and discusses streaming platforms, their algorithms and audience dynamics. It further focuses on the media representation of queer individuals, examining both its broader social role and the characteristics commonly associated with it. Among the issues addressed are stereotyping, the question of authenticity in representation and the relationship between an actor's identity and that of the character portrayed, as well as strategies employed by media producers, such as queerbaiting. The empirical part of the thesis is based on semi- structured interviews with queer viewers. The analysis draws on the principles of grounded theory: the interviews are systematically coded, and the categories identified during the analytical process are subsequently presented and discussed in detail.
