Právě sestry hrají klíčovou roli v edukaci žen a mohou významně přispět k včasnému záchytu onemocnění prostřednictvím podpory screeningu a nácviku samovyšetření. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty poznatky o anatomii a fyziologii prsu, rizikových faktorech, diagnostice a možnostech léčby karcinomu prsu. Důraz je kladen na preventivní opatření a specifickou úlohu sestry v edukačním procesu. Empirická část práce mapuje znalosti, postoje a edukační aktivitu sester v praxi. Výzkum byl realizován formou kvantitativního šetření prostřednictvím nestandardizovaného anonymního dotazníku u sester pracujících ve Slezské nemocnici v Opavě a Moravskoslezském kraji. Cílem bylo zjistit aktuální úroveň povědomí o prevenci a identifikovat případné nedostatky. The empirical part examines the knowledge, attitudes, and educational activities of nurses in clinical practice.
