Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá úrovní informovanosti rodičů o dentální hygieně dětí a jejím vlivem na výskyt zubního kazu v období dočasné dentice. Zubní kaz představuje nejčastější chronické onemocnění dětského věku a jeho prevence je zásadně závislá na rodičích, kteří určují hygienické návyky dítěte již od prořezání prvních zubů. Teoretická část práce shrnuje současné poznatky o etiologii zubního kazu, vývoji mléčného a stálého chrupu, dietetických faktorech, významu fluoridů a doporučeních odborných společností týkajících se péče o dětský chrup. Pozornost je věnována také rizikovým faktorům, jako je noční kojení, častá konzumace sladkých nápojů či nedostatečná mechanická hygiena, a rovněž oblastem, které jsou v literatuře odborně nejednoznačné. Praktická část prezentuje výsledky kvantitativního dotazníkového šetření mezi rodiči dětí ve věku 0-15 let a do výzkumu bylo zařazeno 71 respondentů. Výsledky ukazují, že přestože většina rodičů deklaruje základní znalosti o dentální hygieně, zubní kaz se vyskytuje u více než poloviny dětí. Nejčastějšími rizikovými faktory byly nedostatečné dočišťování, nepravidelné používání fluoridové pasty, absence hygieny po nočním kojení či krmení a časté popíjení sladkých nápojů. This bachelor thesis examines the level of parental awareness regarding children's dental hygiene and its influence on the incidence of dental caries in primary dentition. Dental caries is the most common chronic disease in childhood, and its prevention depends largely on parents, who shape their child's oral hygiene habits from the eruption of the first teeth. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge on the etiology of dental caries, the development of primary and permanent dentition, dietary factors, the role of fluorides, and professional recommendations related to oral care in children. Attention is also given to risk factors such as night breastfeeding, frequent consumption of sugary drinks, insufficient mechanical cleaning, and to areas where scientific evidence remains inconsistent. The practical part presents the results of a quantitative questionnaire survey conducted among parents of children aged 0-15 years, with a total of 71 respondents included in the study. The findings show that although most parents report basic knowledge of dental hygiene, dental caries is present in more than half of the children.
