cze Abstract:
[cze][eng] Řád Cephalothecales (Ascomycota, Sordariomycetes) představuje evolučně i klinicky významnou, avšak dosud málo prozkoumanou skupinu hub. Teprve moderní fylogenetické analýzy založené na molekulárních datech umožnily stabilizaci taxonomie Cephalothecales a vedly k nedávnému vymezení nových rodů i čeledí. The order Cephalothecales (Ascomycota, Sordariomycetes) represents evolutionarily and clinically significant, but so far scarcely explored group of fungi. Its representatives occur mainly as saprotrophic decomposers in soil and decomposing plant matter. However, some species were repeatedly observed as opportunistic pathogens able to cause serious infections in humans and animals. Morphological variability of the order, namely presence of cleistothecial and perithecial types of fruiting bodies, has previously made its systematic placement difficult. Only modern phylogenetic analyses based on molecular data have made the stabilisation of the taxonomy of Cephalothecales possible and led to recent definition of new genera and families. Limited number of sequenced genomes available hints at significant biosynthetic potential of this group, especially regarding secondary metabolites. The order Cephalothecales thus represents a promising model for further research in the field of evolution, systematics and clinical mycology.
