Populační vývoj Francie od poloviny 18. století do první světové války v kontextu historických událostí Abstrakt Práce analyzuje demografický vývoj Francie v letech 1750-1914 v kontextu demografického přechodu se zaměřením na populační dynamiku, úmrtnost, porodnost, sňatečnost a proměny věkové a pohlavní struktury. Vychází z deskriptivní analýzy demografických ukazatelů interpretovaných v historickém kontextu. Výsledky ukazují, že populační vývoj Francie byl charakterizován dlouhodobým růstem obyvatelstva, avšak relativně pomalým tempem, které souviselo s časným a pozvolným poklesem porodnosti. Úmrtnost se v průběhu sledovaného období postupně snižovala, přičemž hlavní roli sehrál pokles kojenecké a dětské úmrtnosti. Krátkodobé výkyvy demografického vývoje byly výrazně ovlivněny válkami a epidemiemi, zatímco dlouhodobé trendy souvisely se strukturálními proměnami společnosti. Vývoj věkové struktury zároveň ukazuje postupné stárnutí populace a přechod od progresivního ke stacionárnějšímu typu. Francouzský demografický vývoj se tak jeví jako specifický proces, který nelze vysvětlit pouze ekonomickou modernizací, ale také kulturními, institucionálními a historickými faktory. Population development of France from the mid-18th century to World War I within the context of historical events Abstract The thesis analyzes the demographic development of France between 1750 and 1914 within the context of the demographic transition, focusing on population dynamics, mortality, fertility, nuptiality, and changes in age and sex structure. It is based on a descriptive analysis of demographic indicators interpreted in a historical context. The results show that population growth was long-term but relatively slow, mainly due to an early and gradual decline in fertility. Mortality decreased over time, with improvements in infant and child mortality playing a key role. Short-term fluctuations were influenced by wars and epidemics, while long-term trends reflected broader structural changes in society. The age structure indicates gradual population ageing and a shift towards a more balanced distribution. The French demographic development therefore appears as a specific process shaped not only by economic modernization but also by cultural, institutional, and historical factors
