Repatriační programy představují klíčový nástroj pro záchranu ohrožených druhů, jejichž populace ve volné přírodě klesají. V rámci těchto programů, využívaných i u ohrožených veverkovitých hlodavců, dochází k přesunům a vypouštění zvířat odchovaných v lidské péči či jedinců z početnějších volně žijících populací. Úspěšnost repatriačních pokusů závisí na řadě vnějších faktorů, například vhodnosti prostředí, míře predace, managementu lokality nebo období vypouštění. Vnitřní faktory, jako je například personalita vypouštěných zvířat, zůstávají však stále poměrně opomíjené. Cílem této bakalářské práce proto bylo uceleně shrnout dosavadní poznatky o personalitě u veverkovitých hlodavců a zhodnotit, zda o ní lze uvažovat jako o významném faktoru ovlivňujícím úspěšnost repatriace a jak by zjištěné poznatky mohly potenciálně přispět ke zvýšení úspěšnosti vypouštění ohrožených zástupců do volné přírody. Ukázalo se, že pro přežití jedinců po vypuštění je klíčové osobnostní kontinuum smělost-bázlivost. V případě veverkovitých hlodavců korelovala vyšší míra přežití s nižší mírou smělosti. Vzhledem k velmi omezenému souboru dat to však nelze pokládat za pravidlo. Napříč dalšími druhy savců se navíc vyskytly i případy, kdy tomu bylo naopak. Vliv osobnostních rysů se tedy ukazuje jako druhově a kontextuálně... Reintroduction programs are a key tool for the conservation of endangered species whose wild populations are declining. As part of these programs, which are also used for endangered squirrels, animals raised in human care or individuals from larger wild populations are transported and released. The success of reintroduction attempts depends on a number of external factors, such as habitat suitability, predation levels, site management, or the timing of release. Internal factors, such as the personality of the released animals, however, remain relatively neglected. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was therefore to comprehensively summarize current knowledge on personality in sciurid rodents and to assess whether it can be considered a significant factor influencing the success of repatriation and how the findings could potentially contribute to increasing the success of releasing endangered individuals into the wild. It turned out that the boldness-shyness personality continuum is key to the survival of individuals after release. In the case of sciurid rodents, higher survival rates correlated with lower levels of boldness. However, given the very limited dataset, this cannot be considered a rule.
