Rešeršní část shrnuje základní princip metody FDM, přehled jednosložkových a kompozitních materiálů, mechanismy absorpce vlhkosti v polymerech a metody skladování a sušení filamentů. Praktická část sleduje navlhání devíti vybraných filamentů z jednosložkových i kompozitních materiálů skladovaných v prostředích s různou relativní vlhkostí.
This thesis focuses on the absorption of atmospheric moisture by filaments used in FDM 3D printing and its effect on the properties of printed parts. The theoretical part summarizes the fundamental principles of the FDM process, provides an overview of neat and reinforced filaments, describes the mechanisms of moisture absorption in polymers, and outlines filament storage and drying methods. The practical part investigates the moisture absorption of nine selected filaments, including both neat and composite materials, stored in environments with different levels of relative humidity. Test specimens are printed from these filaments to evaluate selected material properties. Emphasis is placed on comparing materials with the same polymer matrix and different types of reinforcement at various levels of absorbed moisture. The final part of the thesis presents a technical evaluation of the obtained results and an economic assessment of the benefits of using composite materials compared with their neat-material counterparts.
