K hodnocení proměny krajinného pokryvu a míry nepropustnosti povrchů byly využity datové sady CORINE Land Cover a Copernicus Imperviousness. Výsledky prostorové analýzy prokazují masivní nárůst nepropustných ploch a úbytek volné krajiny v periferních částech metropole.
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of urban sprawl dynamics in the Prague Metropolitan Area, emphasizing environmental impacts and the increase in automobile traffic. The theoretical part defines the causes of suburbanization and the legislative tools for its regulation in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, a geospatial analysis was conducted in the QGIS environment, comparing the territorial development between the years 2006 and 2021. The CORINE Land Cover and Copernicus Imperviousness datasets were used to evaluate changes in land cover and the degree of surface imperviousness. The results of the spatial analysis demonstrate a massive increase in impervious surfaces and a loss of open landscape in the peripheral parts of the metropolis. Furthermore, this spatial expansion of built-up areas directly correlates with an extreme increase in traffic load – which in 2024 reached a record of 716,000 vehicles per day on the outer cordon of Prague. In conclusion, the thesis highlights the need for more effective interregional coordination of spatial planning.
