Práce Odstíny mezi/í se zabývá zkoumáním skrytého a intimního prostřednictvím motivu rituálu. Čerpám přitom z osobní zkušenosti s latinskoamerickým lidovým rituálem očisty a věštění z vajec, a reflektuji jak víra a pochybnosti koexistují v momentech zranitelnosti. Rituál, původně určený k diagnostice zdravotních problémů a zabránění uhranutí, nabízí jinou formu péče, stejně jako chápání nemoci a způsob, jak jí můžeme čelit. Východiskem díla je rekonstrukce osobního zážitku, který zasazuji do širších souvislostí – zajímá mě napětí mezi vědeckým poznáním a rituálem, mezi racionalitou a intuitivními, netradičními formami porozumění světu. Návrat do momentu nejisté otevřenosti vůči odlišným přesvědčením vnímám jako prostředek introspekce, a zároveň jako způsob, jak reflektovat širší fenomén úniku od reality, nebo naopak jak jí můžeme čelit. The work Shades of the in-betweens explores the hidden and the intimate through the motif of ritual. I draw upon personal experience with the Latin American folk ritual of egg cleansing and divination, reflecting on how faith and doubt coexist in moments of vulnerability. The ritual, originally intended for diagnosing health issues and removing the evil eye, offers an alternative form of care, as well as a different understanding of illness and the ways in which we can confront it. The starting point of the work is the reconstruction of a personal experience, which I place within a broader context. I am interested in the tension between scientific knowledge and ritual, between rationality and intuitive, non-traditional forms of understanding the world. I perceive the return to a moment of uncertain openness toward different beliefs as a means of introspection, and simultaneously as a way to reflect on the broader phenomenon of escaping reality, or conversely, how we can face it.
